Mexican Fortification Agate is a classic banded variety of chalcedony known for its concentric “fortification” patterns and layered mineral deposition. Formed through rhythmic silica growth inside volcanic cavities, these agates display natural symmetry, strong contrast banding, and rich earth tones ranging from cream and tan to deep iron reds. Appreciated by collectors for their structure and visual balance, fortification agates are also associated with grounding and steady energy.
